Third secret of Fatima. The Event: The Procession, “Going Up A Steep Mountain” Florence or Rome?

The Message of the Third Secret

The third part of the secret revealed at the Cova da Iria-Fatima, on 13 July 1917.

'I write in obedience to you, my God, who command me to do so through his Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and through your Most Holy Mother and mine.After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: ‘Penance, Penance, Penance!'. And we saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White ‘we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God.' Dante Alighieri Vita Nuova XL ix-x

'Ah, pilgrims, moving pensively along,
thinking perhaps of things that are not here,
do you travel from towns as far away
as your appearance would make us believe?
You do not weep as you are passing through
the middle of the city in its grief;
you act like those who do not understand
a thing about its grievous weight of woe.If you would stop to listen to me speak,
I know, from what my sighing heart is saying,
that afterwards you will depart in tears:
Lost is the city's source of blessedness,
and words that one can cay concerning her
have power to bring any man to tears.'

'going up a steep mountain' :

What is this event: 'going up a steep mountain' mentioned above in the message of Fatima? Is it just another religious procession that goes terribly wrong? I doubt it. Something must move these soldiers to take on such an evil task. What is it? What kind of hatred does it take to cause such a crime? It is only a religious procession. So I speculate the best I can, all for the best, I hope. I do not see any reason why I should be prohibited from using my imagination to enable me to perceive certain future events.

How close is the Divine Poet in his Vita Nuova in describing the procession of The Holy Father other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious and various lay people of different ranks and positions mentioned in the message of Fatima?

Dante’s procession in chapter XL of the Vita Nuova takes place in the City of Florence. Does the procession “going up a steep mountain” takes place outside of Florence? Is the “big city half in ruins” described in the Message of Fatima, the City of Florence? Most think Rome. So why Florence? The most recent historic event regarding Dante Alighieri was lifting of his death sentence by the city council of Florence, it took 700 years. This sentence of execution against the Divine Poet by the city of Florence took place in 1302. Now the death sentence is lifted. What other events are we to look for regarding the Divine Poet. His canonization, comes to mind and eventually the translation of the Divine Poet’s body to the city of Florence. Seems reasonable to expect these events to occur surrounding the Divine Poet, no? The best I can read into the Divine Poet’s Vision regarding this event is found in the following cantos of the Divine comedy (which by the way I know is not just a poem but actual prophetic visions of the Divine Poet). So after the recent events, the next step in this miraculous event would be the eventual canonization of the Divine Poet and the Translation of his body to Florence. If I read Dante right, this is what the Divine Poet desires:

'If ever it should happen that this sacred poem,
to which both Heaven and Earth have set their hand,
wearing me out in long years' toil, win over the cruel
hearts which keep me in exile from the sweet fold where
I slept as a lamb, an enemy to the wolves who now
make war upon it, then with a new voice and a new fleece
I shall return, a poet, and be crowned with the laurel
wreath at the font of my baptism.'paradiso canto xxv

These words of the Divine Poet apply to the city of Florence, in issuing the pardon: 'win over the cruel hearts which keep me in exile from the sweet fold where I slept as a lamb' These words were fulfilled 700 years later, their cruel hearts were finally won over. Dante is a Prophet. The following words of the Divine Poet will be fulfilled when the Body of Dante is translated to Florence: 'then with a new voice and a new fleece I shall return, a poet, and be crowned with the laurel wreath at the font of my baptism.' But first Dante needs an advocate, someone to take up the cause to have his body translated from Ravenna to Florence:

'How quick that noble soul was to respond
to the mere sound of his sweet city’s name,by welcoming his fellow citizen'purgatorio canto vi

That someone is most likely mentioned here:

'Thy first refuge and first hostelry shall be the courtesy
of the great Lombard, who on the ladder beareth the sacred bird,
for he shall cast so benign regard on thee that of doing
and demanding, that shall be first betwixt you two, which betwixt others most doth lag.'
paradiso canto xvii

This someone from Lombard, is possibly a future pope? Maybe. I don’t know, but the ordering of events has started, now the next event is the Divine Poet’s canonization and the translation of Dante to Florence and then the world will see the Fatima message unfold. Continuing from the same paradiso canto xvii tells of the DXV (515) or Greyhound yet to come. A prodigy spoken of by Pope Pius XII. This is the Roman Ruler who will restore all thing in Christ, this is the event foretold by the prophets. This is the reason for the hatred of these soldiers mentioned in the message of Fatima.

Cacciagudia prophecy:

'In his company you shall find one who, at birth,
so took the imprint of this mighty star
that his deeds will truly be renowned.
'As yet the people, because of his youth,
take small note of him, since these wheels
have revolved above him only for nine years.*
'But, before the Gascon can deceive the noble Henry,
sparks of his virtue shall at first shine forth
in his indifference to wealth or toil,
'and his munificence shall one day be so widely known
even his enemies will not contrive
to keep their tongues from praising it.
'Look to him and trust his gracious deeds.
On his account many will find alteration,
rich men changing states with beggars.
'And you shall bear this written in your memory,
but shall not tell of it' -- and he foretold events
that even those who witness them shall not believe.'
(*nine years from lifting of the death sentence against Dante Alighieri would take us into 2017, some of you look to this date.)

The canto continues:

'Then he added: 'Son, these are the glosses
on what was told you, these are the snares
that lurk behind a few revolving years.
'Yet I would not have you feel envious disdain
for your fellow-townsmen, since your life shall far outlast
the punishment of their treachery.'paradiso canto xvii
