"that this chastisement will contribute to the healing of the victims, the purification of the Church"....purification as in the act of purging of sin? How is this done other than by removing the parties who willfully and unrepentantly engage in sin? Purification is getting rid of the impurities and this will be done by removing the men who caused the damage to begin with, it also involves preventing the same type of men from entering into the priesthood. Therefore Pope Benedict has vowed to remove all homosexuals from the priesthood and barring all homosexuals from entering into the priesthood in the first place. This is the purification of the Church. Let all these homosexual deviants find a place for their vocations in the public grade schools, in the science departments of high schools etc.. so that we can read about the homosexuals molesting boys in the secular world, & let the godless atheist deal with the problems of homosexual predators... oh yeah they won't, 'cause according to the atheist, homosexuality is ethical! The atheists will deal with the problem of homosexuals molesting boys by demanding that the state lower the age of consent, making it no longer a crime to sodomize a boy!
