Fury as regional American Airlines carrier cancels nearly 700 flights due to a 'technical issue' leaving thousands of travelers stranded 

Technical problems forced one of American Airline's regional carriers to cancel nearly 700 of flights.  Thousands of travelers have been stranded at US airports after American's PSA Airlines carrier canceled 275 flights Thursday and 400 flights Friday because of the glitch.  Travel through Charlotte-Douglas International Airport was hit particularly hard as nearly half of PSA's cancellations were out of the North Carolina airport.  The problem was with the system that affects crew scheduling and dispatch operations. In all, 675 flights were cancelled.    The airline says it's working to accommodate passengers on American flights and other regional carriers.  There were no problems with American Airlines itself or other regional carriers.  It didn't take long for Twitter users to express their frustration over the cancellations.   Images from the airport show crowds of people lined up at the gates, while others are seen laying flat on the floor or slumped over in a chair.
