WWII-era plane crashes at Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport

Firefighters were battling a massive blaze at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut after a military airplane crashed into one of its buildings, officials said.  Airport authorities confirmed that the World War II aircraft crashed there Wednesday morning, but there was no immediate information on injuries or fatalities. “We have an active fire and rescue operation underway,” airport officials tweeted around 10:20 a.m.  The airport, which is now closed, is located in Windsor Locks, north of Hartford Photos posted on social media showed a massive cloud of smoke and numerous emergency vehicles at the airport. At least one Twitter user reported seeing an explosion.  The plane appeared to be a vintage B-17 bomber. Source
