THE LITTLE OFFICE OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

AT MATTINS

Vers. Man hath eaten the bread of Angels, and the table of our Lord is prepared for him.
Resp. Amen
Versus. O Lord thou wilt open my lips.
Resp. And my mouth shall show forth thy praise.
Vers. O God incline unto mine aid.
Resp. O Lord make hast to help me.
Vers. Glory be to the Father, & to the Sonne &c. 
Resp. As it was in the beginning, both now and ever, and world without end, Amen, Alleluia

THE HYMNE

Sing thou my tongue with accent clear The glorious bodys mystery, And of those drops of blood most dear, By which he let the lost world free: Whom the most noble womb did beare, To whom all Nations subject be.
Antiph.  O how sweet, O Lord is thy spirit, who that thou mightest show thy sweetness towards thy children, by most sweet bread sent from heaven, fillest the hungry with good things, sending the fastidious rich empty away.
Vers.  Thou hast given them bread &c.
Resp. Having all delightfulness within it.

LET US PRAY

O God who under an admirable Sacrament hast left unto us the memory of the Passion, grant us we beseech thee so to reverence the sacred mysteries of thy body, and blood, that we may continually feel in ourselves the fruit of thy redemption: who livest and reignest with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Ghost &c.

Then to this Sacrament so high Low reverence let us now direct. Old rites must yield in dignity To this, with such great graces deckt. And faith withall, those wants supply, Wherein the senses feel defect.
Antiph.  O holy banquet, in which which Christ is received, the memory of his Passion is renewed, the soul is filled with grace, & a pledge of the glory to come is given unto us.

To the Father & the Son we bring Praises, & joyful songs we frame. Their honor, health, & strength we sing, And ever bless their holy Name. And he who from them both doth spring. Must have like praise & equal fame.
