Faithful Roman subjects Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian

The persecutions of Roman Christians under the reign of the Roman Emperor Diocletian took the lives of Saint Cosmas and Damian. Saints Cosmas and Damian were always faithful to Roman Imperial Rule. These two martyrs were put to death for their Roman Catholic faith on September 27 in the year 287 . These two Saints were not put to death as political rebels to Roman Imperial Rule.
