One injury reported at morning fire at St. Catharines chemical plant
One person has been injured from a fire at a chemical disposal business in St. Catharines.
Firefighters were called to the Ssonix Products facility at 20 Keefer Road at 6:35 a.m. on Thursday, said St. Cathares Fire Chief Dave Upper.
Upper said firefighters “know there are various chemicals inside” the burning building and are awaiting the arrival of the owner to obtain an inventory of the plant’s contents.
One person has been taken to hospital with burns, said Upper.
The Ontario Ministry of the Environment has been called. Source
